Bastide les Romarins

Bastide les Romarins is a peaceful place to relax in the sun, with a spot of swimming and the odd game of boules thrown in. But there is plenty more to do around the area, whatever your taste.

For sight seeing, visit some of the many picturesque villages dotted around the Luberon, or the major towns such as Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Orange or Marseille.

If you like nature and walking, being centred in the Luberon National Park, there are walks all around us. From full on hiking through to a gentle strole amongst vinyards, there is plenty of scenery and nature to take in whatever your ability.

If you like shopping, you will find fresh local produce including meats, cheeses and wines at the markets that visit all the local villages. In the evenings, you may enjoy the summer night markets, where you will be able to enjoy food and live music while browsing stalls of goods produced by local artisans. And of course there are wine caves everywhere for you to go and sample local wines and, make up your own mind about what to indulge in.

For eating, there is a restaurant within walking distance of the house at l'Etang de la Bonde, where you can also swim in the lake, or just laze on the shingled beach. There is of course a wider choice of restaurants just a short drive away, for example at Ansouis (3km), Cucuron (5km), Vaugines (5km) Lourmarin (9km), and of course more should you choose to further your exploration.

And of course if you are looking for culture,you will find plenty here in the worlds of music, art and literature.
